  1. What is the best way to meet people when I first get here?
  1. As people are moving into the dorms, just talk to people. People are very friendly when they are first moving in.
  1. How do I get the internet set up on my computer?
  1. If you run into problems trying to set your computer up,

call Resnet and they will come set your computer up

for you free of charge. Resnet is available all year to

fix students computer problems.

  1. Where is a good store to go to for dorm room

accessories?

  1. Target is one of the favorite stores for students to go

and get anything from decorations to appliances.

  1. How much does it cost to ride the bus system?
  1. The ltd. Bus system is free for all U of O and LCC

students.

  1. What do I do if I don’t like my roommate?
  1. Try talking to your RA and your roommate. If

it comes down to wanting to get a room change

your RA will help you out.

  1. Is it alright to have visitors stay in the dorm with me? Is

alright for people of the opposite sex to stay in my room with me?

  1. It is alright to have visitors and people of the opposite

sex to stay with you. Visitors can only stay for six times.

  1. I want to move my bank account to a local branch.

Where should I go? Which is the best bank?

  1. There are multiple banks that are close to campus.

During the first week, banks will usually have stations

set up around campus so students can learn more

about them.

  1. I would like to rent a movie but I don’t have a

a membership to any local video rental place.

What should I do?

  1. Your area desk has movies for student check out.
  1. How many tickets to I get for a sporting event?

How much does a ticket cost?

  1. You get one ticket per game, but tickets are

available for purchase for family members.

The one student ticket can be picked up at no

charge with student i.d.

  1. When do tickets become available for a game?
  1. Tickets become available two weeks before the game.
  1. I am interested in getting involved in sports here but I

am not good enough to make a varsity team. What

do I do?

  1. There are two options available to you. You could look

into intramural sports or club sports. The club sports office is located in the EMU and it has information on club sports and intramural sports.

  1. Am I allowed to download music off the internet?
  1. There is no file sharing allowed at the U of O. While the

University cannot condone the use of getting copyrighted music off the internet, it also can’t stop you as long as you are not file sharing.
